Triathlon - Saddle Recommedations

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just got a new tri bike that came with a Selle Italia Trans Am saddle which I am not a big fan of. Recommendations please?

Depending on how aggressively you position yourself on the saddle, you'll probably want to look for one that has a nose with more padding than usual. Trial and error is really the best way to find a good saddle though. I recommend starting with an inexpensive one. Performance Bike has one or two house brands (Forte) which may work.
Another one to consider would be the Blackwell Research Adamo ISM seat:

I'm thinking of trying it out sometime later this year just for s***s and giggles.

fizik arione tri &
fizik arione tri2
They have worked the best for me during the past year.
The tri 1 is a little more forgiving and comfortable.
The tri 2 is a little tougher to sit on unless you are hauling @$$. But it is virtually flat. As I slide forward, I don't slide down. Makes me feel more efficient.
A couple of my friends love the Profile Airstryke. I rode it for a couple of months, but it was too cushiony for me.
Good luck,

another recommendation for the fizik arione tri. i added a desoto 5mm-gel seat cover for 70.3-length races and training, and now just leave it on. it makes up for the lack of padding in tri-shorts.

What is the difference between the regular arione (which I have and love on my road bike) and the tri version?
