I rode from San Antonio, TX to Austin, TX yesterday. It was an amazing ride. It was all back roads, downtown New Braunfels, San Marcos, downtown Austin. The lovely ladies of Texas State were all sunbathing by the river, out on their lawns, everywhere. Sometimes I hate Texas, but then rides like these exist and I change my mind. The road sides were covered with bluebonnets. The smell of honeysuckle was overwhelming as I rode into south Austin.
Anyway, it was just an amazing ride and I encourage any San Antonioans or Austinites to do it.
Got a route you can share with us?

I went this route:

The directions are for going from Austin to San Antonio, but reversing them is no problem. I recommend going soon, before the blue bonnets disappear and the 100* heat hits us.

I really like the Michael Bluejay route and have done it several times. I posted it up on RouteSlip <http://www.routeslip.com/routes/13981> if you want a better visual. Some of the street signs are a little sketchy in places, but like with any other route its not a problem if you have the mileage.

That seems like the same route. The street signs are a little confusing in San Marcos for sure.
