Schweeeeeee J a zing Grrrdddddlllnnnnngggggg.

That is the sound of my skin and bones grinding on the concrete.

What a nasty slider crash I had yesterday. Ya, it was a nice spring day and I was feeling zippy. I was going fast, and leaning into a turn.

Being ever so conscious of slippery spring conditions AND being an experienced ice rider, I leaned into the turn and kept the bike mostly upright. Still, as if some space alien zapped me with an anti-gravity gun, my bike just seemed to lift from under me - like judo style, and I landed sideways on the pavement.

I skid for about 3.46 miles give or take 3.4599999 miles. OWiee! The pavement has a nice flesh colored gleen to it now, but my arm and thigh; Icky!

The culprit was wet leaves on the pavement. They look innocent enough - maybe even pretty. It was those tiny spiral seed wanna-be things that drop off of maple trees in the spring.

Be careful, my friends.

3.46 miles. I get a kick out how we all have cyclocomputers today and we give our answer in 1/100th of a mile and I doubt that any of our cyclocomputers are calibrated within 8%.

Just razzin ya. Heal fast.

soory to hear that, but look at it this way, now you'll have a cool story to tell, but I would dress it up a little, put an 18 wheelerin it or something.:roflmao:

Wow - where do you live where June 10th is considered spring :)

Usually its a boiler oven around here by now - but it has been chilly and wet this year, so it still feels like spring here too.

Sorry about the spill - my favorite heart attack usually comes from sliding on gravel or sand (gaaaaaaak), but I am going to watch for wet leaves now too.

Ouch!

Mike Are you okay? Is your ride ok?
is the street okay? (I don't care about the
spiral leave seed thingys so I won't ask). . .

Hope your doing well,
Marty

You got to go slow when your out there. I keep saying this on these forums but no one listens to me. I saw a roadbiker yesterday flying on a Trek 5200 with NO helmet. It's amazing what risks people take on their bikes.

A couple of weeks ago, someone also wrecked going into a turn. Lets hope this is the last one for the year. Remember. Go Slow.
