Our Sat morning group ride had a guest domestic pro. There were only six of us and he was a very nice guy. There's really nothing funnier than trying to have a conversation with a guys who's barely breathing while you're at 90% MHR.

"Yes, I work for a <pant, pant, pant> local biotech <pant, pant, pant> company <pant, pant, pant>"

Yeah, back in Texas we had a higher level MTB rider ride with us on our Saturday morning MTB road/gravel road ride.

He blew us all away regularly without breaking a sweat (figuratively)

He would be stretching and riding with no hands at times when most of the rest of us where huffing and puffing.

Bobby J was around in december and I got to hang on his wheel for a little while(while riding over my tongue). He really looked like he was coasting uphill while the rest of us were putting out a good effort

There's a cure for that, you know...having a conversetion at a high heartrate?
Try singing when you're riding. Just make sure there's no other cyclists around, they'll laugh. I ran into a racer who was drafting me while I was singing about banana's and cocaine.

Rolling off the starting line today, I was singing Iron Man.

Fast Freddie came to our team camp at the beginning of the year. He made a joke that we were going to do a tempo ride together (ie his tempo). Oh boy. I ended up sitting on his wheel for a few minutes before we rotated riders and then got to pull up front. oh man. what a workout.

Ex teammate Andy Guptil (Colavita) rode with us a few times last summer. One time in particular, I was drilling it uphill as hard as I could, and he pulls up next to me looking like he's on a recovery ride, and says nonchalantly "You're the fastest cat4 I've ever seen." lol :D

No, no, no.... Start talking in a country accent. Like if you catch up to a break-away say something lik "Boy, yews is dumber den a pig takin a **** on a Wednesday, in't cha?" Or when passing someone at a good speed, casually say "Howdy!".

And if all else fails, just recite Ivan Drago lines.

Ted King ... rides for Priority Health. Top finishing PH GC guy for Georgia (after BJM DNF'd). He seemed like just an average nice guy who could probably go really fast on a bike if he wanted to (admittedly, we didn't see much of it because our group hardly pushed him).
