Living Car Free - Man steals 26 cars to visit date!

Here's a story about a guy stole 26 vehicles to impress his girlfriend that he had a car. How stupid can you be to commit a crime wave in order prove that you can afford a motorcar. It goes to show you folks the extent men will go to show they are not dependant on public transportation.

We're constantly seeing new threads on how dating is non-existent or near impossible without a motorcar but this guy takes the cake. There's no question in my mind there are plenty of women who won't date a guy without a car and I'm sure that was probably his case. I suspect probably half the female population would never date a man without a car but stealing vehicles is just insane.

When you think about it, this guy was no young puppy and at 31, was desperate enough to steal over two dozen cars to illustrate his wealth. Yet, it's similar in a way to those guys who take out 5 year 45K car loans to impress a girl. I guess men are supposed to "Look" rich even though the motor car leaves them dead broke or in this man's case, prison!

I just thought about this. I can't ever remember ever meeting a guy who wouldn't date a woman because she was dependant on public transportation. A sad comment.

Interesting article, just shows how shallow a lot of people really are, unfortunately our society is based on marketing stuff and "looks" you just have to have the stuff or you are a loser, or make a certain amount, or have a certain career....good thing my wife doesn't think that way;)

Bizarre.

Quite frankly, I never understood a concept of date with a car. If you go to a restaurant, the choice of beverages for one of you is going to be very limited. Not that you have to get drunk on every date (or ever) but an occasional glass of wine at a romantic dinner or a pint at a pub as you're having a lot of fun rooting for your hometeam can be pretty nice.

Perhaps the women who'll only go out in a car (and in the guy's car no less) are drunks who want the whole bottle of champagne all to themselves? :D

At least he wasn't stealing our bikes.
