Awww... thanks Sean!!!! It was a fabulous ride... I felt pretty good up until the lunch stop at mile 72 (when Sean had to whip it on back to meet up w/his family)... I was dragging out of the lunch stop and dbp13 encouraged, cajoled, and pulled me back to the second to last rest stop (just before the last hill)... let me tell ya, if you every get a chance to ride w/either of these guys (Sean or Daniel) you should do it...

thank you BigSean and dbp13, you guys are the BEST!!! And Sean, please tell Jada and your Parents it was a pleasure to meet them!!!

Trac'

:o Thanks Trac' although I don't think I really did all that much. It was a pleasure to ride with both of you (and Davisclyde and his sister, even though Davisclyde is the one who broke the news about the actual elevation gain).

If you give me a few minutes, I'll post pics.

I didn't take any pics during the ride because I had VMC's camera and was afraid I'd thrash it... but here are some pictures of the actual route that I took this morning on my way home..

I'm feeling pretty good. Rode back to the hotel last night and took a shower and then lay down for a couple of hours, and, as I predicted, woke up starving so I went out and picked up a pizza. I drove home on 89 this morning rather than going home through Susanville, and stopped at a place called Indian Falls. It is only a short walk from the parking area down to the waterfall, but it drops a couple of hundred feet. Trust me when I say I felt it on the way back up to the car.

this morning... I passed Indian Falls on my way out of town! I actually thought about stopping too but it was a good thing I didn't as I was late picking up the boys! Was it pretty?

That was quite the ride. I still haven't uploaded my garmin because I left all my crap up at my sister's place. I realized I left my laptop and my work up there when I got back to Davis Saturday night. Needless to say, I drove back up yesterday with the family, and then headed back to Davis this morning and straight to work. I'll post pics and the rest of the info tonight.

The elevation was indeed way more than advertised, but then I knew what to expect since I mapped it out a day before with some topo software. My garmin came in about 5k.

I feel pretty good after the fact. The only thing that hurts is the sunburn on the back side of my left arm. It is blistering. :(

Hey DC, it was nice to meet you and your sister. My garmin came in at 5k and the motion based was about 5800. All I know is it felt like it was 110 deg on that climb up the grade.

I drank as much as I could at Greenville, and then used one bottle for drinking up that climb, and the other for squirting on my head at regular intervals. It did feel hot!
