Odyssey, Animal.
If you're smooth get yourself some Wellgo Mg-1's or Mg-52's.

The twisted pedals are supposed to be downright awful.

No, they are acctually not bad. I've ridden them on a couple friends bikes and liked them, and I'm planning on picking up some plastic ones soon.
I guess you could say im smooth but i ride a lot of trail since thats what my bike is made for.

i like tenderizers, dunno why I hated mine. Too bulky and the pins were kinda small.
These Wellgo's that i have now are the best pedals i've ever had.
EDIT: Fly pedals are great too, but they have a large price tag.

I have pair of Mosh Step-ups and they are really good.

I still don't know what pedals I should get. For some reason I feel like I would break the Mosh pedals.

Twisteds aren't too bad, but then I'm also running 1/4" spikes in mine. Fly's are nice but expensive, Tenderizers are horrible, Mosh's are decent, 1664's are good if you get them cheap, JC's are the best, Animals are good, Shinburgers are heavy, expensive and mean but look ballin'.

1664's are good if you get them cheap We can get there here in the states for the same prices. I've ridden someones bike that has them, they are great pedals. Pretty much the same as the Mosh ones except they come in Mg or Alum. and have bigger pins so you can run them long or file them down.

I'm not a fan, I was put off them when one of my friends destroyed a pair.
Tendorizers aren't so bad, i had some and they worked pretty nicely. Grippy because of the knurling

So, I'm probably getting new pedals very soon and I'm in a big tossup between: Mosh, Ody, and Hoffman. Ideas? Opinions?

Ody sealed :D
FitRider 921
05-13-07, 10:16 AM
Too much. Everything is unsealed (except Mosh because they come sealed).

The unsealed axels on Jim C's are pretty bad

05-13-07, 04:27 PM
No worse then any other pedal in the price range.

Odyssey just because everyone has them, and not many people have problems with them. Although if you like the Mosh, get the 1664, they are basically the same, but i'd trust 1664 more. The Hoffmans look good, and the pin idea they have is great but i have yet to hear a review or something, so i'd search around some forums and such for reviews and if you can't find any, just get JC's.

I'd still say get JC's but just watch out for the axel after a while, besides you can get replacements

I don't want plastic pedals. They may be for some people, but they aren't for me. I don't need to save that much weight. I need pedals that grip. If I had good pedals in the first place I may not have broken my leg.

have you ever used the pc's? they're grip is trick

I just ordered a pair of Odyssey Twisted PCs the other day; after riding Santa Cruz Steve-O's bike, I felt that I had too. They feel amazing.
In other news, suicide doublepeggers are back in style, as are hand jives and wallrides on tractor trailers.

so when ever i tell you to get them you say no. beerman comes in and you listen to him.
FitRider 921

He actually tried them. I don't recall you saying you tried them. To the best of my memory, I remember you said that you tried plastic pedals, and did not say anything about those specific pedals. And yes, I do value his opinion more on things because I know him more than you and he is a great rider. It's like hearing something from Edwin and hearing something from Johnny down the block. I am not saying you are not a good rider, he is just a more established one.
