View Full Version : I Shaved too, Thanks Jet Travis

Since Jet Travis had the nerve to take the razor to the skin, I thought what the heck, I'd try it myself. I am traveling for the next two weeks straight (Atlanta, then Colorado Springs), so if I didn't like it, it would grow back before my wife would see it. I hope. So, out came the clippers, then the razor. It's done. No goutee. Haven't been clean shaven in 15 years or so. In fact, other than pics, my wife has never seen me this way. I kind of like the look.

Thanks for manning up and setting an example for us all Jet Travis.

Did you do the legs too?

I had a beard for 20 years and shaved it during an extended vacation to the south Pacific, then let it grow back towards the end of the trip. I looked so much younger in the pics with it off that I reshaved and have been beard-free ever since.

I can understand the humour from a sexual viewpoint.
Biking up to ten hours a day in humid conditions is not so funny. The hair down there (at the friction points) is not a good thing. The less there is the better it is. I cannot survive without some cream for these friction points and hair has no place with that. I have been with bikers who refuse to see it that way and they suffered the consequences.

IMHO, this is a trend far more disturbing than the cell phone menace discussed in another thread.

Now 60 and had a beard ever since I came out of the Marines. Got fed up with shaving 3 times a day.

For a charity concern- I shaved my beard off in about 1990. I will never do it again. The skin was so sore that I was in agonly for the 4 days it took to get a respectable covering back. Tried everything- Cold cream- eau do cologne- calamine lotion- after shave. Nothing worked- except the beard re-growth.

Hmmm ... that is not a good start to your research. By this time she should be enamored of your smooth legs.

I am traveling for the next two weeks. I will be all "grown out" by the time I get back home.

I only hope I don't get a little "loose" over a bottle of wine and tell my wife all the stuff you guys talk about on this forum. She will ban me for sure!!!

Idle and somewhat morbid curiosity here. Are they stubbly and itchy yet? What is the return frequency of the shaving act looking like it will be to maintain smoothosity?

after 30 years of riding this is the first time i have actually let the hair grow back out on my legs, lasted for about 4 months, took the razor to them on sunday, yep feels better now. upkeep about once a week, my wife does not like it says it is gay, but that's ok , :) because other women that notice, comment and say man you got great looking legs....:) :D :D

Nope. Actually, I don't seem to have all that much hair on my legs to shave. I think I used to have more.

It will never grow back after this.
