Hey everyone,
I am going to be headed down to Westchester County next week, probably stay in Tarrytown, NY for the entire week. My work schedule is busy in the early AM and later PM so I have about a 6 hour gap from noon-6pm with nothing to do so I am going to bring my bike down with me. Is there any good riding down there (road)?? I am lookin for rides in the mid 20 mile range. Any ideas???

I migth also spend the weekend up in Poughkipse (spelling?? you know, where Vassar is). I dont think it will be as hard to find rides in that area.

Thanks!

Very nice area. Lots of Bicycles and Bike shops.
I stayed in Armonk, NY recently for work and they had bicycles at the Hotel! How cool is that!

I'd check out the local shop for info - Sleepy Hollow Bicycles (or something like that). They sponsor a team and are riders themselves.

If you like Multi-Use Path riding, the Westchester County "North County Trailway" begins just above Tarrytown. You can pick it up at the Marymount Manhattan parking lot, at a small lake just east of town. Also at Eastview.

The path from Tarrytown extends nearly 40 miles north into the next county, with one 1-1/2 mile stretch on wide-shouldered and share-the-road signed road.

Check the Westchester County Parks and Recreation website for precise info.

There are many good road rides in the area. The Westchester Cycle Club website is a good place to start.
