Got a little problem with the spoke eyelet splitting on the drive side of my Bontrager Race wheel. I would like to stay with Bontrager to match the front. Any suggestions on which Bontrager would be an upgrade in sturdiness? I have been looking on the web, but it is hard to tell without looking at the real thing.
I could buy a whole new wheelset, but don't see the need if I can get something to match. See attached photo.
Thanks for your suggestions.

I'm looking at that, but thinking it will probably happen again. Seems like I should have a sturdier wheel.

Teammate of mine had the same problem, Bontrager/Trek comped him a new wheel. Search on "eyelet" in thei forum, big debate on whether there should be an eyelet there. I have a knockoff pair of Bonty Selects (Alex 300s) that do indeed have the eyelets for a theoretical stronger rim.

That setup isn't for durability, it's for racing. I'd say get it replaced under warranty or through purchase, and race the Bontragers. Then buy a set of sturdy training wheels and train on those.

Warranty it is! Getting a new rim because, per the sales rep, they anodized a batch of those rims a little too long which made them a little brittle.
