Hi,
I've been riding off and on since I was little. I've never been into dropping lots of cash on latest and greatest new bike. I'm more into fixing up old beaters. My current project is an 80s Peugeot that I'm adding a 4 speed Shimano Nexus rear hub to. The problem I've hit is I can't find a RapidFire 4 speed thumb shifter, (they don't make them anymore).

Anyone have any suggestions where I might find one? (no luck with Ebay or HarrisCyclery)
Any alternitives I can use?
If I was to just use a friction shifter, could this damage the gears?
