I was asked to login five times in the past three minutes.

What gives? Can the server remember that I already logged in?

I seem to remember this question before and I believe the answer lies with your own web browser's settings.

nah, this happened to me, and I'm pretty sure it's as simple as ticking the "remember me" box when
you log in.

It took me ages to figure it out (in fact, someone told me :)). Before the forum changed servers, the 'remember box' was automatically ticked, but now it ain't.

Don't think so, i am on another forum and the time out is much longer there. I don't want to tick
"remember me" because I mostly post from a work computer and some people round here would
find it funny to post rude stuff in my name.

the 'time out' on this forum is pretty quick if 'remember me' isn't ticked

Okay, okay,

I clicked "remember me" and I stay logged on.

Bikeforums dot net is different from other web sites.

Usually when you click "remember..." the site will log you in automatically , the NEXT time you visit.

I didn't want anyone using my name , and posting threads. Who knows what they will post?

Anyway, clicking "remember me" on this site will NOT log you in automatically , say, if the bookmark is clicked.

Thank you, thank you, no further replies are needed on this thread.
