Folding Bikes - Suggestion on 16X1.75 tires

I am coming up short on a local source for 16X1.75 tires for my DaHon 3 speed. Any suggestions for an online source? I am on a budget. I found a rear rack today for 5 bucks, and have added a front light and rear blinking light, so I the bike is starting to take commuter shape. Tires as still a concern.

I have bought things from this dealer (http://www.bikepartsusa.com/view.asp?f_c=Tire&f_c2=16+inch) with no trouble in the past, although I haven't bought any of the tires on the linked page. For the short-distance commuting you've been describing, I think most of them would probably be okay. Out of that bunch, I'd probably choose the Primo V monsters, since I've used the 20 inch version on another bike. Nothing extraordinary, but okay. I don't know, though. Maybe the 40 psi Kendas, like the Kontacts, would be a better choice for those old rims.

My Curve D3 has the Schwalbe 16 x 2.0 Big Apples. I can recommend the tires, but I don't know if your older Dahon would have the clearance for them, and they're pretty expensive. You can buy them directly from the maker (http://schwalbetires.com/node/61/ok), from ThorUSA (http://www.thorusa.com/dahon/accessories/tires.htm), or probably from a lot of other places.

Thanks for the suggestion. Anyone tried the Innova Power Groove? It is in my price range and is less of a BMX tire which appears that most tires in that size are.

OK, I went with some Kendas, kinda knobby. Here is a shot with all of my updates to the bike. Have not made the commute yet on these tires. They feel pretty good at 50 psi.

Thanks spambait11. It does flex a bit at the main tube, but not bad. No other noticable flexing that I am aware of. I hope I adjusted the cable tension right on the 3 speed after changing the rear tire. I think I did, but it does make an extra noise now I didn't notice before. I really am enjoying this bike. I plan to find some thick rubber to put on the rear rack for a mud guard. Thanks for the comments!
