hey all,

www.ridelugged.com (http://www.ridelugged.com) is hosting a 50 mile spring ramble, May 19th 2007 9:00 am - Meeting at 209 Whitehill St. in Lemont, PA. Casual, multi-surface road ride through beautiful Centre County PA. Bring your own lunch. There will be a water stop (at a natural spring). Bring extra water if you aren’t cool with drinking pure mountain water. Roughly 15 miles of the roads are on smooth dirt roads through the wooded parts of the ride (that’s what multi-surface means). Don’t worry, it’s fun. Tires bigger than 23’s would be advisable, for comfort’s sake. Some folks might be on fixed, touring, cross, or normal road bikes. We don’t advise, nor do we participate in wearing matching colorful spandex. We’ll be riding at a very non-competative moderate pace, because Rambles are about conversing and grubbing and snapping bad pics to post on equally bad blogs, not about racing. If you don’t want to do all 50 miles but maybe want to do some variant of the ride email us, and we’ll chuckle, in writing (no we’ll figure something out).

We will be doing a BBQ thing afterward with some adult beverages, etc. Camping in the backyard or on our floor if you’re from out of town. Please let us know if you can come so we can make you a spoke card.

These are great rides. I rode on the 80 mile ride in the fall and it was a blast. Met some new people, saw how great riding on back roads in PA can be. Plus it's for a great cause, the "Enjoy Beer and BBQ After a Hard Ride Fund". I'm really stoked on this ride, see you on the 19th.

quick note: this ride no longer includes dirt, due to the recently regraded dirt roads. the gravel is too thick and makes for unsafe riding.
