Hi, I'm new to this forum and it looks great! I live in Charleston, South Carolina and I have been riding at the recreational level since the 80's (I'm 42 years old). I recently purchased a new Cyclocross bicycle when I was in Asheville, NC a month ago and I ride some road, some trails here. Perfect for this flat terrain in the Lowcountry. I hope I can be a helpful contributor to the forum. Thanks!

Hello surfshark, there's a few other members in your general area (try saying hello in the Southeast regional forum). What bike did you get yourself for your rides?

Welcome to BF!

WELCOME..I'm here in southern coastal NC, in a witness protection program,I'd rather not divulge the town.Good to see a Carolinan here. Asheville has some little-bitty hills HUH? It's flat (but hot) where I am.

Thanks for the welcome! My new bike is a Schwinn Fastback CX cyclocross. Not that I intend to race CX, but you never know. Mainly, I think it's perfect for riding on the flat terrain here in Charleston and surrounding areas. I do mostly training riding these days to stay in shape (I also play in the local soccer league) and the bike is perfect for whenever I venture off the road onto a trail, dirt road, etc. It was a great ride in the mountains. I love the road geometry too. It's manufactured by a different division than the Schwinns that you see at discount stores. I'm really pleased with it.

I bought a cyclocross machine a few years back, and simply love it. They can really do most anything you throw at them! Welcome to the forums!

And as you said, it's perfect for what you're using it for--that's what a bike is all about :) .
