I'm doing that as well. It'll be my first century - I'm training for Ride the Rockies and plan on being in century shape by Elephant Rock. Have you done it before? If so how hard is it? The online profile looks a little misleading (exagerated elevation vs milage) - could be wishful thinking on my part though.
Its not hard at all. :) You'll do great!! I done it twice and again this year with girlfriend. :)

Anyone doing the offroad one?
Anyone doing the offroad one?
I had planned to do the off road ride on our tandem, but lost my stoker. (Daughter getting married and no longer has time for dad.) At the moment I'm torn between doing the offroad on a single or the 50 on my road bike...

Have you registered? I was pondering this one and the century as well. It would be nice to have someone to ride with.
Yes sir, I am registered. Would be great to have you along.

Say hello when you pass me. I'll be the one with the U of Maryland jersey riding the Novara Divano. Yeah I ride like a Terrapin - slow and steady.

I'm probably riding the 65 miler with a friend. I'll be on my touring bike which is a silver trek mtn bike with trekking bars: http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=45646&d=1180045047
Look for the Colorado flag sticker on the rear fender and say 'hi' if you pass me. - Alan

Pwnt and I are carpooling together. Look for a bald dude with a black helmet on a red and white tarmac. Though with the amount of riders there I think that may be a tad difficult. At least Snowy knows what I look like. Oh the horror! :p
PM'ing you my cell number Snowy. Call when you get down there. We're doing the hundred. Aren't we DJ?(shake your head yes or else)

Get that? ;p
Yes, the century. All that travel for anything else would be silly. :)
I'll look for you guys :)

Don't everyone forget about the Pikes Peak Classic. A little further south but still a good ride for a good cause.

How did your ride go? I thought it was a really nice course!

I liked it. However, I really have nothing to compare it to since it was my first organized ride and century.
Still, I finished strong and had a blast.

I did the 50. Just didn't have the legs to tackle Roller Coaster Rd. Still, got out and back in 3:34 ride time and before the wind kicked up. I was home by noon, which makes it all good for me...
I did the 65-mile route. It was my 3rd time doing the 65 (I did the century once, too, back in 2004). I hadn't done E-Rock in a few years, so it was good to be out on the course again. And man, we could not have asked for better weather - it was PERFECT! It seems like every other time I've done it we've been plagued by monster winds, rain or scorching heat, but today was a dream. As soon as I got home, it then started pouring rain, so timing was good....
I did the 100 and finished by 1pm. :) Girlfriend and I did it together. I was amazed how strong I was after losing 8lbs in a week. :(
I saw Pwnt and DataJunkie whom I believed changed his username?? Anyhoo, it was a good ride glad I did it :)
Glad everyone else had a good time.

The ride was great. I did the 100 for my first century. Took me a little over 7hrs. Couldn't ask for better weather.

Rode the 65 with a friend and had a good ride. Got a couple great photos of Pike's Peak in the distance. Next year I think I'll park in Sedalia to avoid the traffic congestion at the start/finish. :)
Did the 100 with DJ. If it weren't for him I probably wouldn't have made it. Thanks DJ.
On a side note: Anyone have a set of STI 9 speed shifts the don't want anymore. My gave up half way through the ride.
Where do we go to view the photos that were taken?
Thanks.

So were you riding a single speed for the last half? My condolences. Congrats on finishing the ride.
No just had to use both hands to shift up. Pretty annoying.

The real congratulations should go to pwnt. Doing a century when just starting out is amazing.
I have quite a few miles on my bikes in the last few years. I could not imagine trying a century when I first started riding.
With a few exceptions where I either climbed too hard or shifted badly, I was actually surprised it was not that bad. Next year the triple bypass! That should give me plenty of time to train for it. :p

My front shifter had been doing something like that up until last week when I got it tuned. A real pain for sure.

So nobody here was the guy that did the century on a SS/FG while wearing a lovely green dress and Ragety-Ann red hair?
Congrats to everyone that finished.
Remarkably it only took me 20min. longer than my average but a little quicker than I was predicting. Maybe next year...

Missed that too. Did see a guy with a traffic cone strapped to his helmet and a girl with a stuffed animal strapped to hers. A green dress and Raggedy Ann wig's got that beat though.

Saw the cone. Told him he had something on his head. I bet I was the 6000th person to do that.
Anyone know the total # of people on the ride? I was #7125

No, I just heard around 7000. I was #2836. Got excited for a second at the prize drawing for the Zipp Wheels when the announcer read one of the numbers 28........95. Oh well.
Dude! When are they gonna have the pictures up already? Gosh. :D
Umm this may sound like a really dumb question but here goes anyway.
Does anyone remember the photo letter for the first photo station we passed in the 100 mi. ?????
