Is there something magical about this seatpost? It's nice and all, but c'mon!

it glows green in the company of orcs, and goes snickersnack when cutting thru the wind

Sanity is an illusion. A construct created bey people who are uncomfortable with the concept that they really aren't that far removed from those weirdoes who (insert whatever strange behavior you like here)
In other words while I'm not inclined to buy a seatpost for $162, I can't really call myself any more "sane" than someone who does.

They don't even have those cool adjusting bolts, i got them on my BBB seat post, and they are relay good for seat angles and such.
For some people a few hundred bucks is pocket change, and if more than one of those people wants that seatpost... well, you see why they invented auctions!

Find one that doesn't say "Campagnolo" on it!

If you want Campagnolo style, then sometimes you pay the Campagnolo Price.
There were two who wanted it at the same time...

This was the second chance offer. The original bidder bailed on his $173 winning bid. Needles to say I was suprised.

I was always inclined not to buy Zeus products because they are/were intentional copies of Campagnolo products, and they totally ignored international patents. Appearently Spain refused to prosecute patent infringements.
But, I suppose that enough time has past that even Zeus products should be concidered vintage copies or no.
As I recall though, zeus products were no where near as well made as Campy products, and in fact tended to fail way more often. My brother bought a pair of Zeus campy copy shift levers, and they were really junk. As you shifted, they would loosen, and your gears would chatter.
I guess I sortta wish we still had them, but after 30 years, I wonder if he even still has them around.

All I can say for it is that it reminds me of a modernized Super Record post.
Not that those SR posts ever held a saddle well though - I know of a few fellows who had to JB Weld them in place, in addition to torquing them down.
Take care,

Here's an aluminum post that's got an everyday price that's not far behind that $162-
