Road Cycling - Bouncing out of the saddle

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So I just recently got into road cycling (3 rides and 40 miles or so later) with a Giant TCR 2. I just got fitted at the LBS and I went out riding today and whenever I got into the drops I started bouncing out of the saddle. Also, when my rpms got around 115ish I started bouncing out of the saddle on the hoods. Now I haven't been riding long enough to diagnose the problem, so I thought some of you could help before I start messing with my "proper fit" from the LBS.
Thanks,
Mark
If you're bouncing at 115 that's reasonably high, so it's probably a technique thing.
A useful drill is to ramp up the cadence to where you start bouncing, then drop the cadence a bit until the bouncing stops. Maintain that cadence for 1 min, and repeat. It's not a hard workout so you can do a fair number of these. Keep the intensity pretty low. That worked pretty well for my technique.
For the "throw me into the deep end of the pool" approach, get a pair of rollers. ;)

+1... technique for sure.
How about one leg pedaling.
+1 to what's posted above. As you ride more, work on maintaining a smooth pedal stroke throughout the full 360 deg. You'll find lots of info here, I'm sure.
Also, are you riding clipless? If so, you can do some one-legged drills (pref. of a trainer, but if not, just be really careful out there).
