This is a really good climbing ride up Big Tujunga and Upper Big T to Angeles Crest. From there it's either left and up to Newcombs Ranch for lunch, or right and down A.C. back to the Rose Bowl. www.lawheelmen.org

I have a party (surprise for a friend's 40th) at 3pm tomorrow or else I'd want to go. Save some leg for our ride on Sunday, Bob, I'm going to need a good ride!

Some SFVBC members might want to do it, but as usual the decision will be made at the last minute. I'll write to you later.
I'm going to need a good ride!
:roflmao:
Sorry, that one was just too easy :)

Bob is taking me up in the hills, Steve. All I know is that we're having lunch at Newcombs ranch and that it is going to be no more than 50 miles...but, as I'm sure you can guess, WITH lots of climbing. :D

I just looked at the roster of CSUN rides and none of them appeal to me . So i will most likely show up for this one

Why aren't you doing BA? Not that I know you at all, but seems like it would be up your alley? Have a great ride tomorrow nevertheless.
I'll jump in one of your rides soon, but they always conflict with my other rides @##@$.

Bob,
BA is over 11,000 feet in 74 miles  So BA has more elevation gain over distance. Your ride may have some steeper climbs, though I do not know because I have never ridden it. Either way good luck on your ride and keep going up!

...and up to Newcombs Ranch for lunch...
This place has become one of my favorite post-ride (or mid-ride, if you are just descending from there) spots for refueling. All the food is surprisingly good.

Its part of the Heartbreak route but starts in Ventura and climbs over Pine Mtn at 5000 before decending 2000 down to the bottom of Heartbreak at Ozuna. It's a wonderful ride, the hardest event that I do each year.

That sounds like a very nice ride Bob. I hope to be able to do the ride some day.

A ride is a ride, and make sure you jot those miles down in bikejournal! :p
Were you in Griffith Park this morning? I rode through there briefly on my route this morning around 9am or so. I could've introduced you to the 6 women I was riding with. I'm trying to get some of them to come out to the GMR ride. We shall see.
VB, hope your ride was awesome, they always seem to be!

You're so sweet, Ron. ;) Yes, a ride is a ride is a ride...wait, what exactly kind of ride are we talkin' about here? :p Um, no, not in GP. Aunt and Uncle are making a surprise visit to town and I had to clean my place (and I missed my friend's 40th bd party ) Turns out, now they aren't staying. Oh, well, I've got a clean place and I ate to much. Watching a scary movie, The Descent, right now.
And, ahem...you were riding with 6 women? Hmmm....cheating on us BF girls already, huh? ;) Great, bring them on out!

This ride was pretty great, beautiful weather, but a little windy, and a little chilly on the descents. Met up with VB, VG, Stan, and Deb at the start, along with a dozen or so LA Wheelmen. Also saw Shprung and later zzzwillzzz. Deb, VG, and I turned back ath Upper Big T and Angeles Crest as we are a little tired from our trip, VB, Stan and Will went up to Newcome's. Gotta go, bye
