I don't think I've seen anyone posting about living in Bakersfield,
but you never know.
I will probably be in Bakerfield on the weekend of May 19th. That's arrive Friday, leave sunday.
Having that Saturday free up until about 3pm, I was wonder if anyone knew of
some good MT Bike rides around there.
I could do a road ride, but thought a Mt bike ride would be better!
Anyone know of such a thing??

Drew12,

I live under a rock, or is that a layer of smog, somewhere north of LA. We do have quit a few Mt. Bike rides around here. I ride road, not into Mt. Bike. Here is the link to the Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association, they put on the Keysville Classic Mt. Bike every year. http://www.ssfta.com/ If you go to trails on there website you can look at some of the rides in the area. Contact either Tim Strem Tim@ssfta@com or Jim McWhorter jimmcwhorter@earthlink.net . Tell either one of them that you are looking for rides that day and let them know I sent you, Dan Borradori.:D

I could do a road ride if your in the area, as long as someone who is "not fast" is OK with you.

Drew:

You might want to check with the Kern Wheelmen - they are the local Bakersfield bike club. Their are a tn of trails outside, east of Bakerfield. If you check the KW website there maybe some info.

I know this isn't particularly relevant for your trip, but, as an FYI for those interested in riding around the Bakersfield area, we're doing the Cannell Plunge in Kernville on the weekend of June 15-17 (Father's Day Weekend). We'll be camping out at the Mountain River Adventures campground and taking the shuttle to the top. More info here:
