Noob @ Cyclocross

I've been a roadie for about 2 years now but want to get into cyclocross. I'm on a pretty crappy budget (less than 1500). I've been looking around really have no clue what's decent for that kind of money. any suggestions would be great.

Fuji bikes are priced right. Depending on bike fit, this Bianchi (http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/BI309G00-Bianchi+Cross+Concept+W+Free+Build+Kit.aspx) might work for you.

Some good choices in the price range include the Kona Jake the Snake, Raleigh RX 1.0, Fuji, Trek XO1... Of course there may be others. There are a lot of options within your budget.

The Fuji Cross Pro should fit that budget and it seems to be a good deal (Ultegra 10sp/Ritchey/FSA)
I don't know about the wheels though but I am sure they will be great for your first year and then you could always upgrade, etc.

I have a 2002 Fuji Cross that I have been upgrading when parts wear out/bust and the frame has been rock solid. I have raced crits with it, and early season road races. I really like the Fuji frame and for the money you get a lot of bike. My team is sponsored by Fuji as well...so I am biased like another poster who responded. With 1500 you should have some really good choices.

My LBS has a sample that I took for a spin, and it was great. Light and rugged. The shop tech uses the store model for his weekend races, and said he would have to spend over $3,000 to get something noticeably better.
