Your Help Needed to Make the Highway 6 / FM1960 Corridor Safer & More Usable for Bicyclists and Pedestrians
On May 3, 2007 in the Houston Chronicle, TxDOT announced that they would be doing a study concerning State Highway 6 / FM1960 from I-10 to State Highway 249. This study will include a couple of public meetings.
If you live out in NW Harris County, you know that this is the main artery which connects everything. And there is really nothing out there in this corridor for bicyclists, and sometimes not even pedestrian signals and crosswalks for peds.
We suburbanites have to get our licks in while we can during this study process. I would like to assemble a core group of community activists who live, work, bike, shop, eat, and walk in this corridor. I would like to see multiple cyclists and pedestrians show up at these meetings to make comments, I would like TxDOT to receive lots of letters from area cyclists and pedestrians.
If you would like to help me in this long-term effort, please make yourself known to me by emailing me at pwang01@gmail.com, or call (281) 630-8255. Thank you.
