It's been raining all day... but I just looked out and it has turned to snow. Big, fat, sloppy clumps of snow just the right size to splat on my glasses and totally obscure my vision. Plus all the drivers are going to be going nuts. So I'm parking the bike here and taking the bus home! I know when Ma Nature has the upper hand.

(It's one thing when you're prepared for snow, but it's MAY, for crying out loud!! (I know, it's May in *Calgary,* which means I should expect it, but... May!!! :eek: ))

there has to be some disadvantage to living in Canada...snow in May qualifies, I think.

Most of Canada doesn't have to worry... but Calgary has completely outrageous weather. Something about the elevation and the wind patterns coming off the mountains - I don't really understand it, but I have personally witnessed more than one midwinter day where the temperature hit 20C (75F), rising 30-40 degrees from the day before, and snow in May a couple of times. (I just don't want to believe it).

Hey, if we're lucky, this will be the Annual May Snowstorm and that will be it. I'm sure you remember two years ago when we had snow in mid-August... :D I'm glad that I left my legwarmers in my pack. I just wish I had some mittens in there too!

Ahhh, you goofy canadians with your goofy weather patterns. :D I kid, I kid.

I remember being stationed in CFB Cold Lake a few years back, 1992 I believe. My unit from Austin, TX was participating in Operation Maple Leaf around August. We arrived and the gigantic Cold Lake, which has an area of 174 miles :eek: , was frozen. 2 weeks later it melted. 2 more weeks later it snowed. The Texans had a snowball fight then we were basically miserable the rest of the tour. Thanks god for the female "entertainment" right outside the base to help us keep warm and sane.:D
