These turndowns are killing me. I can't seem to get a good looking and clean one. Today i was doing them a bit better until i managed to get my lever into my pocket and get locked in mid-train. Just for the note, landing in a turndown isn't fun or comfortable. My favorite lever broke too.

It was some Avid spring loaded MTB lever that i got off mude who got it off our friend who used to ride mtb who is going to kill me when he finds out i broke it.

Anyways i ended up riding brakeless for the rest of the day at the trails and it wasn't as bad as i thought. Only problem was stopping after the last set to avoid the hole behind the dirt quarter we are working on.

The half that stayed on my bike (That couch is ugly, i know, but it's old and in my garage.)

Andthe part that snapped off over a wad of $20's that i will need to replace it and get a new cable with!

Does anyone know a good MTB mailorder where i can get that exact lever?

You can find them on ebay for less than 20 bucks. Just do a search for Avid AD 3. But, I'd say pony up a few more dollars and get nicer levers, the Avid Speed Dial 7's. Pricepoint.com has them for 25 bucks.

Speaking of riding brakeless, I took the brakes off my bike today... it feels so much smoother.

You took your brakes off after going through all that trouble with the stright cable.

Hahaha he's right. You gave up. Plus 'it's the cool thing to do'.

So it all worked out for you.

Yeah, I pretty much just played around in the front, did some manuals, hops, and fakies. I really didn't do much. Today I did some hopping... pain-free.
