Introductions - Biking In Chicago

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm a new Chicagoite. I just bought my first "real" bike. Translation: Not from Walmart :(
It's a 07 Fisher Wingra.
I have a horrible temper and tend to curse at cars that don't let me in to traffic.
Then you'll do fine here as long as your riding skills back up your talk. :)

I've been riding since I was very young and worked at a bike shop that my family owned for a few yrs starting when I was 7 putting bikes together.
I don't know anything about the new brands and quality of them but I can put together a bike no time at all :)
That's part of the reason that I joined here so that I can learn more about the names of good bikes and bike parts so that I don't waste time with my old trial and error method of finding bikes that I like.

And bang on taxi hoods -- they wish they were us, you know ... that's why they hate on us so bad.
