Although they carry lots of bike clothing, cycling accessories and bike parts, I don't think they sell bikes.

there's a new bike shop, just turned one year old. revolution montreal, they're located on amherst, near the village. specialize in fixed/single-speed conversions on older, vintage frames.

FYI on Cycle Technique...nice guys, and local to me, I still go for odds and sods that I need a.s.a.p., but I wasn't impressed in the spring of '06, when their yahoo "mechanics" botched 3 out of 6 hubs on our two hybrids and my recumbent (nothing weird about its hubs, fyi) that I'd brought in for a basic inspect, lube and repack.

When I complained and brought them *all* back for rework, it was done promptly, but the lame excuse for the sloppy work was "it was really tough getting them perfect and we were really busy". Sheesh. If you can't spin a wrench correctly and leave play on a hub that causes wheel wobble, don't do the job. I used to do my own hubs in my youth, and I know how finicky they are, which is why I preferred paying someone else to skin their knuckles ;)

Now, the lads looked like a bunch of new hires, and really wet behind the ears - so maybe the owner's smartened up since then, but...

I ended up taking my business back to ABC Sports in '07 - it's a schlep, and they charge a bit more, but they do it right, the first time.

I suppose all of this is just helping push me to do all my own maintenance, again (and take a few courses as well).
