Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I took of my front tyre to put my bike in the car and forgot to put the plastic separator between the Shimano hydraulic brake pads.

They closed up and i don't know how to open them. Does anyone know how to help?

Cheers

Liam

Welcome! Have you checked out the Bicycle Mechanics forum? They may be just what you need right now.

Hey Liam. There is a trick that works ... sometimes. Remove the pads. Then, if you can get a wrench (round end of a boxed wrench) between the piston(s), push them back that way. If that doesn't work, you may need to bleed the system. Good luck, and welcome to the forums!

I love it when a plan comes together! I've used that trick a few times with good results. :)
