Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Does it stand to reason that if one is experiencing knee pain (anterior and lateral) while riding with regular tennis shoes and flat pedals (no cage) that changing to cycling shoes with cleats (and appropriate pedals) will possibly help to alleviate the symptoms?
I would think it would help with the lateral pain but for the other one you may want to look at your saddle height.
