Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to get my bike from Montreal to Toronto? I live in Montreal and will be riding in the Friends for Life Bike rally which starts in Toronto. Is it best to take the train and have my bike with me for the train ride- or should I ship it via Can. Post or another carrier and have someone pick it up. Any advice would be great!!

You can easily take the train and have the bike shipped (In a box; you can purchase one at the station). It may arrive a day or so later. Alternatively, you can also ship it via Greyhound (or whoever is doing the bus route nowadays), it's probably the cheapest way aside from taking it with you via train.
If you're taking the train then ship it with you.
I think the bus would be cheaper though.

Greyhound is a good way to go,they have the boxes for cheap(just tape it up good) and you only have to pay $3cdn for a trip card that makes sure the bike stays with you,on your exact route the whole trip.

oh man nooooo, don't ever have grey hound deliver anything of worth
if you value your bike man don't do it.
best bet, goto a bike store and buy a bike travel bag, and carry the damn thing with you on the train. NO FUSS NO MUSS.
It'll just be a bit heavy and awkward at first but hey, the whole train ride you will be sure its beside you and not being thrown around like a rusty sack of potatoes.
The best thing about a bike bag... ITS AN INVESTMENT !!! even if you use it once you can most definately resell it almost at the same cost you bought it for.
