I asked this in the broken post thread, but got no response. So I'm being direct.

Where can I get a steel handlebar post to replace the aluminum one I have on my P8?

The older steel ones are not adjustable but I might be able to cut one and add a conventional stem.

I DO abuse my P8, and I don't like taking chances at 20+mph.

Suggestions?

I tend to contact the sources directly if I can do so. Contact Dahon directly at: (626) 305-5264 M-F business hours PST. Talk to their own parts department. Or call Thor at:

Tel. 800 222 8356
Tel. 618 395 3840
Fax. 618 393 2956
Email: thorsten@thorusa.com

Dahon does not make steel handleposts anymore. Your best chance is either Gaerlan, ThorUSA or make one yourself.

Even with a steel post, "abuse" (i.e. pull back hard and often, i.e. treat it like any normal bike) the handlepost and it will eventually fail.

I have my steel one piece post/ handlebar in the garage off of a 2006 Boardwalk S1. I took it off and replaced with the Revolve stem, it needs a bolt/ nut for clamping to the fork, I needed the longer bolt for my Revolve after the short one stripped out. $30 plus shipping from 53572
