Do you carry your cycling passion over to your PC.. We all search the web enough for cycling based information.
So my work PC, my desktop usually rotates between scenes of podium girls kissing cycling victors in Pro races or else an underwater cyclists cruising his hybrid on a watery bottom in full dive gear. Most often it is the podium girls. Those Italian podium girls should quicken the pace of many a red blooded Italian cyclist.
At home- We are both francophiles. Toured France lots on bikes.
My favorite bike kit is on full display.. The French gear I often wear out on the bike. Possibly France's most promising cyclist -Sylvain Chavanel in Bonjour gear.

I'm a sucker for sunsets. My "wallpaper" (I call it root background) on most of my machines currently consists of an image I took while on a bike ride on Orcas Island (http://www.neebu.net/~khuon/images/SunVideo-test-1.jpg) (an island in the San Juan chain northwest of Seattle). Lately, I alternate between this particular image and a few others which can be seen here (http://www.neebu.net/~khuon/gallery/sunsets).

Mine is a picture of two beautiful children. I love my kids even more than I love cycling. (And I love my wife even more again.)

Sorry .... this got way too mushy.

I will now return you to normal programmnig.

Oddly, my computer wallpaper does not reflect any bicycling themes.

I've never been a fan of computer games, but I got thoroughly involved in the Myst series. My desktop wallpaper is a photo from the Myst III game, Exile.

I don't use wallpaper (need my RAM too much), but I do use the Graham Watson Photography Screensaver (http://www.grahamwatson.com/wallpapers/wallpapermain.html) at work. It downloads new images every day or two... probably wouldn't be worth the trouble on a dial-up line.

I usually use pictures I have taken. Right now I am still using pictures that I took last year in Europe. Pictures from the Alps in Austria at the moment.

I allmost allways have a picture along the family line. Right now it's a picture of my wife and her parents. Vacation pictures are sometimes used so we remember what a good time we had.:D

I use a picture of my dream bike as wallpaper. That bike is the 03 Cannondale Scapel 3000. However my next bike will be a road bike, and I haven't done enough research to know what my dream bike in that category is.

This is what I have on my work computer (when I'm employed) and my home computer. It's from the 2001 TdF. I found it on Graham Watson's site.

Almost everyone who walks by my computer stops to look and ask what's happening in the picture, where it was taken, etc. It get lots of smiles and a few bicycling conversations get started.

A black and white picture of my trusty Paramount. One morning, after doing a little photo work for some people, I woke up to find this marvelous heavy fog. I grabbed my camera, and headed for the local park. Printed the picture with a little higher contrast than normal, and I was very happy with how it turned out. Kind of a large file, if you are interested, you can see it at http://home.atcjet.net/~whitlow/paramt.jpg

www.webshots.com has some pretty good pictures you can use as desktop pictures or as screensaver shots, as well as a program you can use to create your own albums, upload your own pictures, etc. There are great pictures of lighthouses, cyclists, mountain climbers, sunsets....you name it, they have it.

Right now, I have my two-year-old grandson on my desktop.

I use webshots (MsVicki has the link) and it cycles through about 20 cycling phots and a collection of about 200 photos that my uncle and I took in England and Paris. I love it!

Here is the pic I use. My wife and I seldom get in the same pic at the races, so when a photographer from one of the mags took this I had to have it.

Marty, are there any 1024X768 versions of that pic (or other pics like that)?

I have a few bike-related pictures I alternate between. Two of my favourites are from Col du Tende (http://cykelsemester.eurotourism.net/tende.jpg) and Passo dello Stelvio (http://cykelsemester.eurotourism.net/stelvio.jpg), taken during an Alpine tour a couple of years ago.

I've had this one up for a couple weeks. I found this at Sheldon's Retro Raleigh website...http://retroraleighs.com/catalogs/1951-england/index.html Now that is a cool looking catalog!

Cool Raleigh shots!

About half of the photos I use for wallpaper are bike related. Currently, I have been alternating between a bike shot--on the tandem doing the Mount Hamilton Challenge last April, and a history shot--my dad standing in front of his plane in New Guinea, 1944:

This is a bitmap i designed. It was (and still is!) on my desktop on my PC at work; I have also installed it at home. (It was resized for this post--the original is much larger):

It would look much better if it were closer to the original size!

Hey Joe,

Am I doing something wrong? In Firefox, nothing appears next to "Wallpaper:" or "Desktop:". In IE (v6.0), all I see are two X's which I can't seem to display or save.

I even tried opening your note as a "Reply with quote" and lifting the URLs...but no joy.

Hi,
currently I have a Cycling Weekly pic. It's in the middle row, at the far right. I don't usually go for racing pics. Although the 2004 Watson pic of the peloton in a morning fog I kept for months.
The current pic looks like a tour in the Alps somewhere, which is one of my goals. Actually, if anyone knows where the heck that is, I would love to know.
