Bike theft 5/6/07 around 8:15pm in Brooklyn Heights (Montague St.)

White Fort fixed gear with silver lettering and black bullhorns.

Fort is a pretty uncommon frame to see around, so if someone suddenly appears with a bike that matches this description - it is probably mine.

Reply to this thread if you have any info. I offer a reward if you can help me recover the bike.

Thanks.

I just ducked into Chipotle to get a burrito to go - so I got hit fast. Dumb of me to only bring along 1 lock but I wasn't gone for more than a few minutes. Came out and it was gone.

A Police report has been filed. Posted to Craigslist already for a lookout and will keep checking.

Surly hubs. Mavic cxp-33 in backwheel, aerohead in front.

Thanks again.

All honesty, I didn't have my ulock with me and was just using a cable lock. Figured it'd keep things in place while I ran in/out for a burrito - wrong, wrong, wrong.

Proof-positive the baddies are still out there. Don't get lulled.

Sucks big time! Seems like a lot of stolen bikes in the city lately. Making me paranoid! Anyhow, do you have a pic you can post? Could help with people identifying your ride. Also, you should crosspost this in http://fixed.gr/nyc/

Wow. That's pretty rotten. NYC is a bike thief's dream. I can't imagine living there thinking that my bike could be stolen at any time. Makes a person wonder what the best lock is.
