I CANCELLED OUR FIRST GROUP BIKE RIDE TOMORROW - SNOW!

I was going to lead our first - for this year - "Senior" church bike ride tomorrow at 9:00 am.

But, we have a snow forecast until 9:00 am tomorrow. No way we are going to ride in the snow!

The Denver area has had more snow this year than anything I can ever remember.

And you've had a lot of nice weather too. I see that it was 75 on Thursday, and last Sat-Mon it was 76, 81, and 79.

Snow? In May? I just cannot believe that.

What is with your weather this Winter? For 25 years I've heard of how it was a cycling paradise and how even if it snows, the streets are melted off immediately, etc, or am I thinking of some other part of Colorado? Have I been mis-informed? Because, certainly, you guys have been shafted this year!

I hear you Denver Fox. I drove to Colorado Springs from Atlanta. On Saturday I stopped in MO and rode about 50 miles on the Katy Trail. It was close to 90. Sunny and really nice. Spent the night in KS, and kept waiting for the Tornado Sirens to go off! On the drive here yesterday, it was sunny until about 15 miles from Colorado Springs, then it started raining. It then turned to sleet, then was snowing. I was looking forward to riding yesterday. No luck. Looks better later in the week for both Denver and C. Springs.

Snow in May is not unusual.

However, it didn't snow right here, but it is snowing other places in the area. It is 37F and raining. [EDIT: It just dropped to 35F] Still, not good weather for our senior bike ride.

Colorado/Denver is truly a state where if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes. It is to be 80F on Saturday.

We seldom get snow this late but temps in the 30's aren't unusual. They open the swimming pools on Memorial Day but the water is like ice:eek:

Saturday looks like a much better day for cycling.

Wow, I'm glad I'm not having to deal with that right now. It's plenty warm here now, but it did seem that April was one of the coolest I remember.
