Well, since I suddenly can't get my tire on the rim, which has never been a problem for me, I'll attribute it to Friday the 13th stuff when I bring it in to the bike shop today.

Oh no! That means that tomorrow is Saturday the 14th - the day that one of my best friends turns 40. Aaaaarrrgggghhhh!

I think there is an evil demon continually stalking me.....

This morning, when I went down to the garage to get my bike out to ride to work, I found the rear tire was flat. Not a good start. I fixed it and rode to work anyway, but I plan to be very careful on the way home, since it has started to rain.
Year ago I rode to work on a Friday 13 and had a bad fall on my way home, went over the handlebars, landed on my right shoulder breaking my collarbone and three ribs. I was off work for five weeks that time.

probably just a coincidence about the date.

It has been a lovely day in England too, not a cloud in the sky. So unaware that it was Fri 13th I went out for a ride, it was only when I logged my mileage that I realised the date. I bet an accident occurs now I know.

Personally I dont believe in superstition, I just think something happens on a subconscious level.

My son was born on a Friday the 13th after 18 hrs of labour (poor mom)

That happens to me every day, since we own (are owned by?) two beautiful black cats, Noir and Ruby, whom we adopted five years ago when they were stray kittens at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. This is our second generation of black cats; the first pair, Lucifer and Esmeralda, from the west Los Angeles animal shelter, lived about 19 years.

Incidentally, if anyone is near San Jose CA today, the Winchester Mystery House puts on an especially great tour every Friday the 13th and every Hallowe'en.

Actually I am going to ride tonight after I get off work, I don't really belive in that junk, I think it can lead to a lot of bad and negative stuff if you do, plus I don't like associating with things that seems if you go deep enough back or into, have some association with the devil, but that's a whole different subject..

I normally take friday's off from riding, but if I have not gotten many miles in during the rest of the week, I will make an exception and go out on friday..Today is one of those cases, we've had a lot of rain here in michigan, and that combined with things I had to do earlier this week, plus the rain days, I need to catch up, since coming up here in July I have a number of rides that are long and on the single bike, instead of the tandem, which I seeminly have been riding a lot these day's, because of the way the schedule falls for me...

So I'll go out tonight, and pray as I always do, that it would be a safe and good ride..

Didn't think about it until now. Since I road all week, nope. :p

The day holds no majesty for me, but people who seriously do fear it amuse me. After all, my name isn't iamlucky13 because 12 other people beat me to my first choice. But I'm too busy this weekend to do much riding.

Ok, woke up at like 2:30am this morning to some incredibly bad cramps!!! Sorry, but deal with it guys! Then, as I sit up, I see my bike pump illuminated against the window, and the handle is all the way up as high as it can go. That freaked me out, and I went over and pushed the handle down. I don't know how it got like that, but it was freaky. Despite me taking like 4 ibuprofin, I got no relief in the first hour, so I took Alleve, and waited another hour before I was finally able to get to sleep.

Then I spent a good couple of hours trying to wrestle the tire on the rim for my rear wheel, but it wouldn't budge. So I waited for the bike shop to open, then walked 20 min and when I got there, I gave them my rim and the wheel. I had a new inner tube and the old one that I'd been using, and they ask if I want them to put in the new one, and I said, nah. So they put in the old one, and I go home, and when I finally get home, I find out there's a hole in the inner tube, so it's like I never made the trip! I had to take the tube off the tire and start all over again, and I took another hour or so, but I was able to change the tire and get the new inner tube in and get the tire back on the rim.

In the meantime, more cramps to deal with. I have a headache.

Now my wrists and fingers are hurting so bad. I probably will ice them down tonight. Typing hurts.

This day just sucked big time. I can't wait for it to be over!

Friday, June 13th was my 11 year wedding anniversary. Needless to say the 13th doesn't bother me :)

I picked up a new bike for Fri the 13th. Blew 2 tires before I got it home.

48 hours later I laid it down in the rain on a slick surface. It doesn't stop on Friday!

But, I still have a new bike...... :D
