Thinking about upgrading the Campy Veloce components to Campy Chorus on my Bianchi Eros. Looks like I am going to go from 27 spd to 18 speed(I believe that's what it is).
Looking around at my options and also noticed some frames of interest so I began wondering which I wanted to do. Build or upgrade?
I read some posts here that will help. I am called about getting into the Park Tool School, I got the 2 websites here everyone recommends(Sheldon and I think its Kiefer...they're bookmarked at home anyways). Will pick up any tools I am missing as well as a decent stand.
I was wondering if there is anything else folks here might recommend. And wondering whether or not anyone sees the upgrade as a waste of time or a good idea.
Thank you in advance for any comments or ideas.

Why do you feel you need to upgrade?
Are you having problems with you rcurrent set-up?

Guess I should have gotten into the why.
I love the brakes on my Eros more than my Trek or other Bianchi.
I like the gearing too on it more than the other bikes.
I had the bike checked out shortly before the MS150 and it was fine. Half way through day one I started having trouble when approaching hills. When on the largest on the front I could not drop shift off of it. I had to keep playing around with up and down shifting front and back to get it down to make the hills. It might be that with all the rain the first day something needs cleaned out, I don't know. I did do a cleaning since but haven't ridden it.
I thought a slighty better set might be smoother shifting and hoped it might not give me the same problem.

Hmmm pedal-n-paddle, this may not help but I'm going to give a go at it since I currently run Chorus on all my road bikes...Recently I did a ride in Ohio, TOSRV and it just rained all day long, off and on, but when it was on, it was really on!! So my bike got soaked, at the end of the day after my shower, I completely wiped down the whole bike dried it off, took the wheels out and all that...Made sure it looked very clean and worked very well.. The next day on the ride back, (it was a 2 day 100 mile per day event) everything worked just wonderfully!!..Then I took it into the shop that does my maintenance, and they checked it over also, and said everything looked good except they needed to tighten or do something I think to the headset or something up there, but the shifting and BB and all that was good....So maybe you're right, maybe you just need to clean it out and re lube it or something like that...I'm not really sure if spending the money to upgrade to chorus is really nessary, but I'm sure it won't hurt if you have the money and feel strong enought about doing it...Chorus is a very good gruppo, I certianly say that!!..
Hope that helps,
Benjamin

Sounds like your front derailer needs adjusting. It would be alot cheaper to fix it yourself or just take it to your LBS.
If you really want to upgrade, Chorus is great stuff and probably would shift a better.
The veloce you have now should be more than adaquate for general riding (like touring the MS 150) once you get it tuned in.
If you like the way the frame rides just get the components you feel you need. However, it is way more cost effective to buy a whole bike.
