Speaking of guys who have been "around the block" and are still rocking hard...Ronnie James Dio has been awesome on the Heaven & Hell tour and the man is 64 years of age!

My daughter bought a Killswitch Engage CD and I put it on my Ipod. It really get the adrenaline up when I am zipping through the neighborhood. I think "My Curse" is almost the perfect song.

System Of A Down Syndrome is not metal.

Scar Symmetry, kind of a melodic death metal.

I said it earlier, but I'm gonna say it again. The new-ish Slayer album, Christ Illusion, is the perfect disc for bike sprints. Every song on there RAWKS, is catchy and is played and produced perfectly. I've probably logged 500+ miles on the bike listening to this on the iPod.

Mastodon's Blood Mountain is another great one. The Sword's Age of Winters has disappointing production, but it's great for piledriving riffs and early-Sabbath-ish vocals.

Also have to give a shout-out to the new Megadeth album. United Abominations is solid, classic metal with tasty guitar solos. I always get a little wary of albums that bellow their politics, which this does, but overall the impression left is good heavy rock.

My favorite album of all time is Sepultura's Roots.

Just got turned-on to a band named Seven Witches that is fantastic. The lead singer apparently really likes Judas Priest because the themes of the songs are a "tip of the hat" to that great band. Take a listen!

IronMaiden.com wrote:
To tie in with forthcoming 2008 releases on DVD of the classic 'LIVE AFTER DEATH' and 'MAIDEN ENGLAND' concert videos (more details coming soon) this tour, aptly entitled 'SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME', will revisit the band's history by focusing almost entirely on the 80's in both choice of songs played and the stage set, which will be based around the legendary Egyptian Production of the 1984-85 'Powerslave Tour'. This will arguably be the most elaborate and spectacular show the band have ever presented, and will include some key elements of their Somewhere In Time tour of 1986/7, such as the Cyborg Eddie.

...their Somewhere In Time tour of 1986/7

My first metal concert. And to a 16-yr-old kid that giant cyborg-Eddie was so bad*****.

2007 was a great year for new metal. Pig Destroyer, Between the Buried and Me, Baroness, High on Fire, Melt-Banana all released excellent albums this year.
