Just found back this old article in the Herald Tribune dating from 2000 about Christophe Bassons:

http://www.iht.com/articles/2000/03/07/bike.2.t_0.php

In l'Equipe dated 17th July 1999, LA said about Bassons:
"Ses accusations ne sont pas bonnes pour le cyclisme, pour son équipe, pour moi ni personne. S'il pense que le cyclisme fonctionne comme cela, il se trompe et c'est mieux qu'il reste chez lui."

("His accusations are not good for cycling, for his team, for me or anybody. If he thinks cycling works like this, he is wrong, and it would be better for him to stay at home.")

Right...

Result Tour de France 2005 1. Armstrong 2.Basso 3.Ullrich 4.Mancebo

Have a nice day

God, that article makes you sick doesn't it.
Lance Armstrong has about as much integrity as a mafia don -- yet people worship him unquestioningly....
And while Basson is probably living in a modest place right now, making peanuts, Armstrong is throning in his massive Austin villa, kissing the president's behind, getting his kissed by reporters, and making millions of dollars endorsing crap on TV. ....
