I am wondering if there is a pump that can fit in the slot of these wheels? I bought the Zipp attachment for the pump but it is a nuisance.

I think most people just buy the "crack pipe" from silca:

I haven't tried it yet, but I'd like to get it for my old Specialized Tri-spoke. Right now I'm using a cheapo Raleigh pump from Canadian Tire. It fits in to the opening ok, but could be better.

Yeah it sucks to have to hold on but it works fine.

Ok, that's what I've got. Guess I'll have to stick with it. Kind of a 2-man job though which isn't always a possibility for me.

The Zipp attachment is the same thing. I'm pretty sure Zipp gets them from Silca (or they both get them the same place). If you turn the wheel so that the hose lays down without pulling the head around, you can do it without a hand on the head.
Otherwise its one hand on the pump, and one hand on the head. (which is where a Silca track pump comes in handy reaching high pressure one handed).

The Raleigh pump from CT fits in the opening and allows you to lock it down. It does put some lateral pressure on the valve stem, though so the danger is that it may eventually bend the stem or cause a tear, I guess. The benefit, of course, is that you can use both hands to pump and believe me the pump action is so crappy you'll need both hands!

I use a Schrader/Presta screw type adapter and an old schrader pump. Screw the adapter on to the valve, plug pump head onto adapter, flip the lever and pump. P.I.T.A., but it works.
