hey , i got quite the crappy bike but im gettin the new Kona Scrap but not until september fer some odd reason. Any ways is there anything i can do to change my bike around just make its lighter andything i can remove? its a raleigh ambush

You can usually save a lot of weight in the tires. Maybe dump the front shifter and only run one chainring...Cut the seatpost if you have a lot of the post burried in the seattube. Those are the only ones that popped into my head.

You could convert to a fixed-gear or single-speed (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/fixed-conversion.html). I dropped SOOO much weight.

Get a new set of wheels and tires. I recommend pre-built Mavic 517 rims with Shimano XT hubs and some quality kevlar tires of your choice. You'll feel the difference after the first pedal stroke. Other than that I wouldn't pour another cent into your old bike.
