Classic & Vintage - What would you pay for this frame??

Frame doesn't weigh 2 pounds, more likely 4 to 5 pounds.

I wouldn't pay that much if it was brand new old stock. My roommate has pretty much the same bike, in decent condition, that he got for $350. Before I clicked the link I was thinking $100.

My local CL has a complete Bianchi Campione listed for $500. Even that seems a bit steep to me...unless it's got some high end Campagnolo group. Looks like it has modern brifters.

The lightest lugged steel bike made by Bianchi was a proto-type,an EL-OS.It was in 1991.Complete with pedals it weighed a shade over 17lbs.It had a titaniam stem.Doing the math,the frame was no less than 3lbs. The bike listed can't weigh 2lbs.,frame only,let alone with fork.Start with a falsehood,the rest flows from there.

I got a frame to paint from Craig Calfee one time. He said the goal was to keep it less than 2 1/4 pounds.
It weighed 2 pounds, 1 1/2 ounces when I got it.
It weighed 2 pounds, 3 7/8 ounces when he got it back! (wheeew!) :p

BTW, Calfee frames are carbon! :D
except for the bamboo frames.

Now revised, no weight and reduced price. It's actually a pretty interesting Bianchi frame. I've never seen that seat-stay top or fork crown before. Looks like a 70's bike except for the extra bottle bosses on the seat-tube. Maybe added later and repainted?

If he had an accurate scale and could show that the frame/fork weighs 6lbs, I would say $500 might be an ok price if it is an SL tubeset. But I'm a sucker for Bianchi's.

IT IS every bit of a 6lb. bike. NOT worth $500 even if it hadn't been re-painted,which it HAS,at LEAST a partial.I know "un-authentic celeste when I see it.
