Tonight's PIR race

In the weekly ride at PIR tonight, one guy ran into me twice. Not intentional by any means, but the guy couldn't hold his line. First time was on the first lap. He ran into me and I went off the course. Foot came out of the pedal but I didn't go down. Then on the second lap there was a wreck on the front stretch that I think he overlapped wheels with somebody and a few people went down. Then on the 3rd lap I thought I was clear of him and out of the corner of my eye I saw somebody makingthat I avoided bee line towards me. Off the course I went and over the bars I went. Somehow I pulled my tricep but other than that the bike and I made it out OK.

Wow, sounds like a one man wrecking crew..... This is why my wife has asked me not to race until after we ride STP..... I promised her that I'd ride it with her before I discovered that I enjoy racing.... So, to avoid potential injury, no racing for me until the middle of July....... One of my teamates ended up with a broken arm in Monday's pile up.

Sorry to hear that Jon,
It is always a bit rough out there at the beginning of the season. After a few weeks there will be less people and riders will have more experience.
Monday was a mess too, I tried to stay out trouble by staying in the front group and when the group was slowing down being on the outside. The race was a chaos from the start, both the 4/5 and the 1/2/3 were big groups and when we overlapped toward the end it was just a disaster, we could not figure out when the prime laps were called and at the end we sprinted right into the other field, than the were still ringing the bell for us so we did an extra lap and sprinted again into a crash.....
Not fun. I guess that is why I am going Mtbiking tonight.

Glad I missed PIR on Monday. I heard it was a mess. I prefer to peak in August when others are burning out and I'm just getting started!

I just saw that the Masher is BACK! How was it out there tonight?
I decided to wait and do the Tuesday, after last week...
