Hey guys I wanna tahnk you for all the help in the past I just want to have someone insure me that i am making the right decision by getting the kona nunu. it is 700 dollars and has lx/deore, shimano disc(my favorite so far), bomber shocks, and a nice kona 7005 aluminum frame. As you know(most lol) I will do XC and small jumps and drops. so this is the right bike?

You could always look at the specialized P2, personally I think its better than the kona. P2 will be less of an xc bike though http://www.specialized.com/SBCBkModel.jsp?san=03P2&bl=mountain&my=2003

why dont you think I should get the kona? or anyone else why should I? i had heard that freeride bikes since they are more sloped arent that confortable as xc.

I am not 100% sure what you are saying (sorry but the english is really broken). But here goes
The Nunu is better for xc. Has less sloped toptube and will be lighter. The P2 is like the roast/stuff and is better built for light freeriding and djing. If you plan to do xc buy the Nunu.
Is that what you were asking?

The kona will be a good bike, its more for xc. If you do bigger drops and jumps the geometry of the specialized will be much better. Freeride bikes are really fun on trails, especially big squishy bikes.:D
The P2 fork has more travel. If youre going to be doing drops and jumps, Id take that into consideration.

check out the Marin Nail trail before you make a decision. The Avid Mechs are 10 times better that the shimanos. They are easier to adjust and they perform better. the two bikes have almost identical specs other that the brakes.

This bike is a xc bike. It will handle trails and very small dropoffs and rundowns. It isn't meant for abuse but a good xc jaunt into the woods :)...

Konas have always treated me right (i own three of 'em, sort of), but I've never owned a bike with suspension, so take that for what it's worth.
