I know I'm gonna get a screenful, but anyone know where if anyone still has those anodized bike parts from back in the day?
ie: chainrings, derailleur sprockets, anti chain suck things etc.
I'm into stuff that other people aren't into any more. Just curious mostly.

I need a t-shirt that says, "I will wrestle you for anodised purple MTB parts!" I too have a morbid fascination with those old bike parts that everyone considers out of fashion. Remember the wooden derailleur?

Why not?, and I actually have a "woody" from Sram, I also got the one painted with the stars and stripes as well. 40 or 50 bux if I remember correctly.

I'm jealous. I kind of view all that goofy stuff from the late 80s through early 90s to be part of "The Golden Age of Mountain Biking". I'm not sure it was really glorious or anything but it was around that time when mountain bikes were starting to come into their own. Suspension had just entered the scene and many weird and radical designs were popping up. MTB racing was becoming more popular and accepted as was the sport in general. There was a lot of evolution going on.

I have purple anodized bar ends. Wrapped in handlebar tape.

one friend has purple ano'd chainring, another friend has red ano'd knobs on his RS judy xc, i think those are the only things anodized but our bikes were from the early to mid 90's.
