I bought an Avocet 25. The magnetic sensor is suppose to mount to wheels with spokes that criss cross. I have a Mavic CrossMax in which there are 18 spokes in the front and they don't criss cross.

Anyone got any suggestions or another brand that supports the CrossMax? The CrossMax spokes are flat and not round.

Here's a pic.

The pic above looks like the spokes cross, but they don't.

You could go to your LBS and see if they have the single spoke mount magnets. They're cheap. The shop here in town gave me one recently. Click link to see pic if you don't know what I mean.

Sigma Sports also makes a single spoke magnet it clips on then has a retainer shield that goes over it to prevent slipping.

Thx for the suggestion, but those wouldn't work either. The spokes are 3mm flat. If those would work, the magnet would point to the rim instead to the fork.

My magnet is mounted right next to the hub, where the spokes are still round. I don't know if you should be mounting the pickup that close, but it has worked just fine for me.

Mavic makes a Magnet for their alloy spoke wheels.

The standard issue cateye magnet also works with either flat or round spokes.
