Hi all quick question before I go saturday morning yard sale hunting...

Is an 8 year old Trek 1100 21 spd Aluminum frame bike worth 200 bucks? That seems steep to me, what do you think? I have not called the guy yet, but do they use the same system for shifting as the new ones (i.e. STI, with the whole sora, tiagra... thing). Thanks for everyone's help!

I have a Trek 1000, 21 speed, eight or nine years old, very similar to the one you're asking about. Mine has downtube shifters with suntour componets.

If you're buying it at a yard sale, I'd offer him $100 see what he says. Make sure you ride the bike and it fits you.
