I would like some feedback concerning 2 touring (commuting) bikes. The first being the Jamis Aurora and the other being the Fuji Touring. Please make suggestions of any similar bikes. What are the pros and cons and differences between the two?

I think they're the same bike. Just different spelling of the name brands.

They are very similar, but I did notice some frame geometry differences.

Bought Jamis Aurora last May 10.....have 4,311.9 miles as of this AM....I changed seat to a Brooks B17 and changed pedals, and tires to Schwalbe Marathon Plus (700 x 28).....no problems, no issues. I commute 12.4 miles each way each day plus 2 credit card tours in that total....
Drive Train - Adequate, Wheels - adequate, no issues (I am 6' 208 lbs now.....230+ when I bought bike)
Only weak item in my mind on "std" bike was the pedals, which I changed out immediately.

Bill,
What's your frame size on your aurora? I'm 6'1, so I'm curious about the sizing?

I'm 5'11" and recently purchased a 2007 aurora size 55cm. I only have about 150 miles on it, but so far the bike has been great. I mostly use the bike for commuting through Philadelphia and weekend rides. I've added a rear rack and a saddle bag for work clothes etc. I'd recommend the bike.

FUNNY, but true the color's the same. I believe Jamis came before the Fuji Elios. I'll admit, I favor Jamis. They ARE so close, the Aurora,if you read the specs carefully, seems a tiny bit "better". A dude stated a few weeks back that he thought the Fuji was a bit chinsy,as far as the hardware,he worked at an LBS that had Fuji. I'd REALLY not want to contaminate the OP with such notions, one is bound to here everything. I think that whichever bike is most available is fine. It's a toss-up.
Whichever fits better.
I like my Aurora a lot, but after 1500 miles and 3 months or so I'm noticing some wear. Admittedly though, I push mine to some extremes. Quite a bit of trail riding (different tires, stock wheels) and the wheels hold up fine. The tires though, they are not so good in my opinion. But I don't know if the Fujis are any better. In any case, you ca switch tires once they start to wear out for about 40-50 bucks, so that's no biggie. I'm also not wild about the Tiagra front derailleur, but it hasn't been bad either. That's not a super-expensive part either.
I agree that the Aurora is speced a little bit better, but it's just a little bit, and probably not very noticeable. Ride them both and see what feels better. I had my heart set on a cross check, but the same shop also carried Jamis, so I took the Aurora out for a spin and didn't look back. It all comes down to feel
