I can't tell you how I can express the emotions I'm experiencing right now. Part of me wants to celebrate, part wants to weep with happiness and/or sadness, but another simply wants to quietly reflect.

My great adventure has been successfully completed. I spent 52 days on my bike and covered 7 states and 3069 miles, totally self-supported. But more importantly, I gained great respect for so many blessings we Americans share. Please read my journal at www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/dean if you would like to learn more about my Southern Tier, 60th birthday experience.

Thanks for all of your kind and thoughtful comments from past posts. Dean

I scanned your website. I look forward to reading all of it. Congratulations on a job well done, and what I would guess would be a lifetime of memories.

I've followed your daily dairy via your updates and Janet's updates daily. I was captivated by the people you met along the way. I'm looking forward to attempting to duplicate what you've done day.

Congratulations my fellow cyclist. You're a real inspiration.

Anybody with a bike named Maynard is already a champ in my book. Can't wait to read the entire blog.

I have enjoyed reading your journal too. I have to tell you though, you are not through. I am planning the ST next year because once I did the northern route it wan't enough. Then the coast. Now the goal is to do the whole perimeter. You will not be satisfied with only one long ride. I am using your journal to help me plan. thank you Dean.

Nice job. Love the journal. I can see a lecture circuit in the near future.
