I'm inviting everyone to join me in riding in the Bicycle Film Festival Parade on May 19th. The Parade will start around 1pm, and everyone is welcome. We especially want to encourage everyone to bring their highwheels, tallbikes (lamplighters), historics, track bikes, unicycles, choppers, tandems, customs, etc. In past years various groups from the Puerto Rican Schwinn club, to Black Label have joined us to make this one of the most diverse displays of bikes in the most diverse city in the world. So far I have only seen 1 highwheel (other than me) and I would like to get a few more to join us.
The parade will finish at the Bike Film Festival Street Party. The street party will feature Track bike contests such as foot-down, trackstands, skids, and more. There will be bike polo, and a bunny hop contest hosted by FBM. There is a full schedule of cycling shorts and films that are the best of the best.
Perhaps the most special part of the event for me will be an artistic bicycling performance by Ines Brunn. Artistic cycling is one of the most skill intensive and graceful forms of cycling, and if you have the chance, I would whole heartedly recommend it.
