Ive just bought a road frame and fork, now Im looking to get the parts for it. I was wondering does anyone sell things in kits or something with everything together, preferably inexpensive as Im on a tight budget. Ill probably end up photocopying my books next semester due to this project haha.

Colorado Cyclist or Excel sell build kits...........all components and built wheels. You will definitely save a few bucks with kits rather than buying a groupo, a wheelset, saddle, handlebar, etc....separately.

I've known people to photocopy books before it works out well and you save a fortune :)

Yes you can buy build kits.. check out excelsports, gearlink, totalcycling, coloradocyclist, supergo I know those are others but those are the only ones I can think of off-hand and you do save a few dollars then to.

Very true mech, but I've known students on VERY tight budgets and they would either join together with 5-6 people buy the book copy it. Or if library carries it check it out and go down to kinko's and photocopy it.

I have had good experiences with Gearlink.

As far as Performance, I have ordered from them twice and both times, they screwed up my order. Maybe just a bad experience for me though.

I have placed two or three orders with performance, and shopped their local stores, no problems. No problems either with bike nashbar, which I have used a half dozen times, or supergo, which I used once. All three have common ownership but different management.

Thanks for the input, I got as much about the books as the parts haha. I think I'll actually end up just buying everything piecemeal, its easier for me to decide which things I want to make compromises on :)

Check you LBS. Sometime when buyers upgrade the shop will sell the parts for the customer. That is how I picked up my Ultegra groupo.
