Mountain - Plains - Someone to ride with....

I have the next week and a half off for vacation and want to get a ton of riding in. So let's hook up! Looking for peoples to ride with. :D

I am off after tomorrow until the 21st. My first vacation in quite sometime and I have several days free before family arrives next week. Mon and Tues. Do not particularly know where I plan on riding. Maybe take a bus to boulder or Golden. I have this hankering for riding in the mountains.

I can come along on Sat if y'all are planning a ride.

We could do a route from Lakewood, it involves Lookout mountain if anyone is interested. I will note that I like to start early in the mornings so around 10am or so.

I have yet to ride lookout mountain. That location and time would be fine with me. 10am is early afternoon for me.

I can meet anywhere and later is fine. I can park at the cold springs park-n-ride or along whatever street that was being talked about last time. I am flexible. Not literally. Still working on that. :p

I came in to work late, so quite possibly! :) My commute takes me on the Platte River Trail between Invesco Field and 38th Ave.

I was late because I had to take my bike by the shop to have it checked out after being hit by a car last night on the way home. :( Everything is good except the front wheel and he's meeting me at REI after work to pay for a new wheel.

I'm fine, snowy... the guy that hit me bought me a new wheel, and it's on the bike. Just gotta adjust the brakes so I can actually have front brakes again.

It was a pretty low speed deal... He bumped me just hard enough to knock me down. I was actually surprised that it hurt the bike.

I think we meet at about where the pepsi bottling company is. I tried to yell at you once I made the connection but you were already gone. You should really be wearing your helmet. (if that was infact you)

I was kind of annoyed about getting the run around looking for a bike wheel. The local shop I went to (Where an acquaintance works) quoted me $68 for a wheel over the phone... in person they told me that the price had gone up... to $120 :eek: I could see $10 or $20 ... but over $50???

And the fact that I was already 3 hrs late for work because of the stop at the shops... Meh. Got everything taken care of, anyway.

I ride through the same area in approximately a similar time frame. Of course, we have no clue what the other looks like. :p I've passed BM at least once that I have noticed. Maybe more since I tend to day dream. :p

BM first I'm glad that your okay but really you should be wearing an helmet. Hey I don't even like them myself (cause it messes up my hair:lol:) no really you should. I've had an road bike accident where that helmet save my head really. I broke the helmet.

I think I may try a giro next. Bells look a tad funny on me. Of course, everything does. However, my wife may kill me if I buy a third helmet but I could color coordinate it with the new bike. :p

I have Monday and Tuesday open from my vacation if you want to meet up. Maybe hook up at the broomfield park n ride and try a route into boulder that cyclocommute had suggested. Or we could try something else.

I am down for Tuesday. Wife is off Mondays so I should really spend the day with her. Lets definately hook up Tuesday k!

The 44 mile version looks fun. Of course that entire area is hilly.
Plenty of other options like lookout or left hand canyon in boulder (that looks like a fun one).

Thanks for the ride pwnt! It was fun. However, we need to do a different route next time since both of us had ridden various parts of it. :)

On a side note: I went down the Broomfiled Event Center road to get my 45 miles in and ended up hitting a squirrel at 25+ miles an hour. I think I pooped a little on that one. Thought for sure I was going down but luckily pulled it out.

Weird. I goofed up and turned off early onto the same road. You must have been the rider I saw up ahead of me. :p I took it to the other wadsworth and met up with a path.
Good that you did not wreck. I was sprinting down another path in westminster and almost hit a prairie dog at 20 mph. Decided to play with the cars shortly after that. Much safer than crazy wildlife.

I have another route in that area that has a ton of hills. This one seemed a bit more flat.
My route ends up heading south on McCaslin. Fun fun.
